A Chic Fall Wedding at Ricarda’s in Toronto | Kristina & Daniel
I’ve spoken about the wonder that is Ricarda’s in a previous post (check out more details about the venue on this blog) and had to joy of fully planning Kristina and Daniel’s chic and emotional autumn wedding here in 2024.
Full Planning Services
Daniel is my first cousin and I planned his sister Anna’s wedding at the AGO back in 2019. Kristina and Daniel opted for the full planning package which meant I was there from the beginning. We started with venue selection and deciding budget and colour scheme. I also guided them in rental and decor curation, choosing a florist, officiant, photographer and all the little details. Their first request was something that was truly a representation of them. They didn’t want a big traditional Italian wedding but something modern with lots of amazing food and lots of fun! Ricarda’s is such a gorgeous venue architecturally with fantastic food. Our amazing florist brought to life this stunning fall palette and the decor complimented it so perfectly. An amazing DJ (who went to university with them) that kept the guests on their feet all night long!
Wedding Day At a Glance
Both Kristina and Daniel got ready at The Sutton Place hotel. Their morning was very relaxed and we kept perfectly to their timeline schedule. Their first look together was so sweet and sentimental. I always love being there for a first look to get the bride ready and to see her grooms reaction! To me, this is what a wedding day is all about at the heart of it, and getting to see the kick off to their day together is always memorable!
In order to better enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests after the ceremony, Kristina and Daniel opted for couples portraits, family photos and wedding party photos to be taken before the ceremony. When couples want to make the most of their time with their guests, having a first look and all portraits before the ceremony is my recommendation!
Their day was truly unique being a cocktail style reception vs. a traditional sit down reception. It was such a great blend of celebrating their marriage, eating delicious food and drinks plus having a great time on the dance floor! Some truly highlights of the night were McDonald’s late night which flew off the tables, ice cream sandwiches for dessert, a tattoo station that had guests screaming with excitement and a very fun interactive mirror photobooth!
