Perfect Surprise Proposal at Scarborough Bluffs
SURPRISE! About 80% of people are absolutely shocked when they get proposed to. It is a special day they will always remember – one of the best days of their lives. That is the fun part of a surprise proposal, seeing the range of emotions leading up to the proposal and utter excitement afterwards. It was a lot of fun planning Vik and Vanisha’s proposal. Vik got in touch with me to ask if I do proposal planning which of course we do. Once speaking with Vik I got an idea of what he was hoping to achieve for this special moment. We discussed all the elements that go into planning a proposal (location, timeframe, décor, budget, etc.) and right away began planning.
Vik wanted a romantic proposal that incorporated elements of them as a couple. I proposed a variety of suggestions to Vik that were within his budget. From there decisions were made and it was patiently waiting for the day to arrive after ordering all the items. They love playing board games so I ordered large scrabble pieces saying, “Marry me” as well as photos of them throughout their relationship. It was all slowly coming together and the anticipation was building.
The proposal was going to take place at sunset at the Scarborough Bluffs; a location Vanisha always wanted to go to but hadn’t been yet. The week leading up to the proposal was very nerve wracking as the weather didn’t seem like it was going to be in our favour. One the day of, it was cloudy but it didn’t forecast rain during the time we were going to set up. I arrived 2 hours early and it hadn’t rained but within 1 hour while transporting all the items to the secluded beach area the rain started to come pouring down. Immediately I spoke to Vik and we concluded today wasn’t the day to propose.
A couple weeks went by and we had decided on an alternative date. This time, the sun was shining and it was an absolutely gorgeous evening. Once again, I brought all the décor and transported it to the beach. After I set up, myself and the photographer waited patiently for the couple to arrive; I was so nervous! On lookers were asking questions and couldn’t wait to see the proposal. As they approached the designated area I could see the excitement in Vik’s eyes and that Vanisha had no idea what was happening. Witnessing this proposal was truly so special; of course she said YES!! Excited, in shock, nervous and so utterly happy, Vik and Vanisha went with the photographer and took some gorgeous photos at the Scarborough Bluffs making it a night to remember followed by celebrations with their families on the weekend. I am so looking forward to our next surprise proposal and seeing another happy couple celebrate their love journey.
